Earlier this year I recorded some vocals for SelfSays over a DJ Houseshoes beat. The result was the first draft of “Roller Coaster” which eventually led to Fat Albert Einstein replaying the beat and Houseshoes putting it on his latest release, “Let It Go”. Here is the official music video for the song, directed by Brandon Damon.
The newest project from Doc Waffles is now available for public consumption. It is called Ambulance Chasers and features guest appearances from SelfSays, Passalacqua, J Walker, and Josef Coney Island. I have worked closely with Waffles on his last two releases (How to Shoot Quail and Seizure Suit Farms) doing some production and engineer work, but this was my first time producing and engineering an entire album for him, and the result turned out to be one of my favorite projects to date. On July 12th 2011, Doc Waffles will be releasing a new EP for free download titled “Seizure Suit Farms” with production by myself, Sheefy McFly, CrateDigga, & Scav D as well as a guest appearance from SelfSays. The EP is the first release from Waffles since his Golf View Drive album (available now for free download) and is a prologue to his upcoming full-length, “How to Shoot Quail”. I had the privilege of not only supplying some beats for both of these new projects, but also recording, mixing, and mastering them so I can assure you that the new material falls nothing short of classic, quintessential Doc Waffles hip hop.

Many moons ago before linking up with D. Allie to form our group, Progress Report, I joined another hip hop collective, MidCoast Most. In 2005 we released our first album “Worth the Weight” and since then have continued to make new music and do shows around the Metro-Detroit area as well as other venues across the country. MidCoast Most consists of myself along with J. Walker and Nonsense who were both recently featured on seperate tracks on the Progress Report debut album, Eddie Logix and D. Allie are Progress Report. On Saturday, June 11th 2011 MCM will be celebrating the release of our sophmore album “The Coast Is Clear” at The Pike Room in downtown Pontiac, MI. The release party will feature performances from MidCoast Most backed by Gorilla Funk Mob, United States of Mind (D. Allie’s other hip hop crew), SelfSays, Mobil, and Intricate Dialect. This much anticipated event will also be hosted by RenCen and have DJ 2040 on the wheels of steel throughout the entire night. As a way of saying thank you to the MidCoast Most fans and supporters, we will be giving out a free copy of our new album to everybody who attends the show along with several other giveways via the event’s sponsors which include Aptemal Clothing, Detroit Underground, Pogo Skate Shop, B.D.T.
