MidCoast Most (myself, J. Walker, and Nonsense) just released a new track featuring Mr. Chief (Beats At Will) called “Ease the Pain”. The track was recorded roughly 4-5 years ago but just recently got a new mix and master and is now available for free download HERE or via the player below.
Here is the brand new music video for my song “Running Before the Wind” off my latest release, “Fish & Chips”. The video was directed by Josef Petrous and shot entirely in Detroit, MI, mainly around the Cass Corridor area. Here is the new music video from MidCoast Most for our track, “Plastic Cups” off of our newest release, The Coast Is Clear. The video was directed by United States of Mind affiliate, Josef Petrous with additional camera work by Mike Rosik and features some cameo appearances from our friends and several Michigan artists, djs, producers, etc. The track itself was produced by the beat duo, ill-eKwipt and is available along with the rest of The Coast Is Clear album HERE. We also have a remix version that I produced of the track available for free download HERE. On behalf of MidCoast Most I would like to say thank you to everybody who came out to be a part of this video shoot and especially to Kenny P who let us throw the party at his house…it was fun! Benjamin Miles and myself will be celebrating the release of our new collaborative project, “Play It Forward” this Saturday, Sept. 10th at The Berkley Front (3087 W 12 Mile Rd). The show will feature perfromances by Miles and myself as well as Dial.81, Eric Plotz, and a Five30 Music showcase set that will include Abrasive Method, S. White, and Madio. Fahrenheit Temperature 2040 will be providing the sounds with D. Allie on hosting duties for the night. Doors open at 9pm with a cover charge of $5 that includes a copy of the “Play It Forward” album.
As Benjamin Miles and myself get set to release our collaborative project, Play It Forward, we’ve decided to give you a sneak peak of a track we feel gives a good representation of the album. The track, titled “Meaningful Work”, describes the self-motivated attitude required for triumph on the daily grind while reassuring the fact that no one’s efforts are made in vain. It is a preview of the album’s tone and introduces Miles’ brand of honest, relatable songwriting. The EP is the first release from Waffles since his Golf View Drive album (available now for free download) and is a prologue to his upcoming full-length, “How to Shoot Quail”. I had the privilege of not only supplying some beats for both of these new projects, but also recording, mixing, and mastering them so I can assure you that the new material falls nothing short of classic, quintessential Doc Waffles hip hop.

The first remix off of MidCoast Most’s recently released album The Coast Is Clear is now upon us. The remix of Plastic Cups is available for download absolutely FREE in appreciation of everybody who has shown us love over the years. Plastic Cups was originally produced by two extremely talented friends of ours, ill-eKwipt. Then, after already producing the majority of The Coast Is Clear, I got inspired once again and decided to add my own touch to the track. I tried to give the track a more ambient, lounge type of sound while also darkening the overall tone of the “classic hip-hop house party” themed track. The homie Intricate Dialect has been putting in work on the Michigan hip hop scene for quite some time now and recently released his masterpiece, “Kemet”. It is a concept album deeply rooted in the history and philosophies of Ancient Egypt. I.D.’s lyrics stick close to the Egyptian theme throughout the entire project, but are still relevant to modern-day struggles and ideologies. The unique subject matter brings a refreshing change to the current state of hip hop music and provides the perfect blend of style and intellect.
I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of working on the Kemet album by producing two tracks on the album (Thutmose ID & Real M.F.) along with recording all of I.D.’s vocals. Producer, Shigeto provided the beat for the album’s opening track while Shady EV handled the production for the rest of the project. The album also features appearances from Tree City’s Gen Pop and Idski’s Abolitionist crew members Tenacity and Kadence.

Many moons ago before linking up with D. Allie to form our group, Progress Report, I joined another hip hop collective, MidCoast Most. In 2005 we released our first album “Worth the Weight” and since then have continued to make new music and do shows around the Metro-Detroit area as well as other venues across the country. MidCoast Most consists of myself along with J. Walker and Nonsense who were both recently featured on seperate tracks on the Progress Report debut album, Eddie Logix and D. Allie are Progress Report. On Saturday, June 11th 2011 MCM will be celebrating the release of our sophmore album “The Coast Is Clear” at The Pike Room in downtown Pontiac, MI. The release party will feature performances from MidCoast Most backed by Gorilla Funk Mob, United States of Mind (D. Allie’s other hip hop crew), SelfSays, Mobil, and Intricate Dialect. This much anticipated event will also be hosted by RenCen and have DJ 2040 on the wheels of steel throughout the entire night. As a way of saying thank you to the MidCoast Most fans and supporters, we will be giving out a free copy of our new album to everybody who attends the show along with several other giveways via the event’s sponsors which include Aptemal Clothing, Detroit Underground, Pogo Skate Shop, B.D.T. As you may know already, Eddie Logix is not only in Progress Report, but he is also in a super dope group by the name of MidCoast Most. They are releasing their album, “The Coast is Clear”, at the Pike Room in Pontiac, MI on June 11th. If you are in a 100 mile radius of the venue I expect you to be in the building.
